Apple announced the release of a new macOS update that will solve the battery drain issues experienced by Mac users. Many users came forward and complained that their MacBook’s would drain their battery when it was connected to Bluetooth even when the computer was asleep. It was earlier suspected that Bluetooth was the cause of the issue, but the computers would drain the battery despite the Bluetooth. So, the root cause was unclear. Now, Apple’s latest version is specifically designed to fix the issue.
How to install the 12.2.1 update
To install the new update, go to System Preferences > Software Update. Refresh your page and it should show you the available new 12.2.1 update, which you can install by clicking on the “Update Now” button.
According to Apple, this update also includes security updates and fixes some security flaws related to WebKit specifically. Apple also recently made macOS 12.3 accessible for developers and beta testers who confirmed that the battery issue was fixed for them.
Other Apple updates
New updates were made available for iOS, iPadOS and watchOS. The 15.3.1 update for iOS and iPad includes fixes for a bug related to a braille accessibility feature and a potential security issue. The watchOS 8.4.2 update seems to be related to stability.
It would be best to install these updates on your Apple devices at it earliest.
