Liquid Web Ensured That Websites Stayed Up During Hurricane Harvey

[ad_1]

When Hurricane Harvey struck Houston, millions of visitors hit the Space City Weather site for critical weather updates. Writer and webmaster, Lee Hutchinson, was worried his site would struggle with the massive traffic. But it did not, with a little help from Liquid Web.

The senior technology editor at Ars Technica, Lee Hutchinson hosts the Houston weather forecasting site Space City Weather on his Liquid Web dedicated server. When Harvey struck, the site experienced an unprecedented traffic surge. Liquid Web reacted immediately to help Lee react.

Lee has written a great, timely article on how you can make your own web-servers hurricane proof, based on the technology stack Lee used during the storm. It is great information you can use if your website will be expecting to incur high amounts of traffic.  You can find it here.

We’re proud that we were able to assist both Lee and the millions of visitors relying on Space Center Weather’s website information. Moments like this one are what we live for. It’s why we call ourselves the most helpful humans in hosting – an aspiration we take very, very seriously.

We look forward to helping Lee – and indeed, every one of our clients – even further in the future.
